January 2005
Spent New Year’s Eve in a restaurant in Valencia, Spain, in the company of our old friend Conxa Verdu, her daughter Saray, and a whole bunch of their friends — a night of food, drink, dancing and a hell of a lot of noise. Had a terrific evening, and I hope that you did too. Happy 2005!
What was to have been a lone short novel has become a double-volume. Sarob Press have decided to pair my forthcoming novella Under the Ice with a collection of my short stories, under the collective title Ghost Dance. The stories are all different takes on the subject of the spirit world and its inhabitants, and include my previously-unpublished novelette ‘Beyond the Western Walls’. Ghost Dance will be released around the middle of this year.
My article ‘Bloody Hero: How 20th Century Society Took the Vampire to its Heart’, which first appeared in Prism, has resurfaced in Horror Quarterly. You can read it for free by going to my Links page and c licking on Horror Quarterly.
