My first ever attempt at a Sherlock Holmes story — “The House of Blood” — will be appearing in the forthcoming anthology GASLIGHT ARCARNUM: UNCANNY TALES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, due out from Edge Publishing.

The first ever collection of my ghost and supernatural fiction — Our Lady of the Shadows – is due out in January from Ghost House, an imprint of Dark Regions Press. It will include fiction from the 1980s to the present day as well as four previously unpublished stories.

Authors Joel Lane and Allyson Bird have taken time off from their own work to edit the anthology Never Again, due out from Gray Friar Press in September. And it will include my brand-new story ‘Sense.’

Dark Regions Press is to publish the third Raine’s Landing novel, Midnight’s Angels. It will be in print by November at the very latest. More news coming when I have it.

As a contributor to the original Pan Books of Horror, I’m very proud to announce that my work will be appearing in its natural successor too. My chiller ‘The In-Betweeners’ — my fourth story set in the fictional town of Birchiam-on-Sea, incidentally — will appear in the Autumn in The 7th Black Book of Horror from Mortbury Press.

This month sees the publication of two new books. The first is my new novella — Yuppieville – which is being launched by Screaming Dreams Publishing at the World Horror Convention, Brighton. The second is an expanded American reprint of my award-nominated collection Going Back, with four additional new stories. That one’s out from Dark Regions Press, my favourite independent publisher in the US. You can find out more about them both by visiting my Home Page.

My story ‘Mr. Smyth’ appears in the new anthology Back from the Dead: The Legacy of the Pan Book of Horror, which is also being launched at World Horror, Brighton. You can find out more about it here.

The new decade gets off to a terrific start with Black Static magazine’s hugely respected book critic, the inestimable Peter Tennant, naming ‘Night of Demons’ as one of the Best Horror and Dark Fantasy novels of 2009. Read what he had to say here.

My new novella ‘Yuppieville’ from Screaming Dreams Publishing is at the printers, as is Dark Regions Press’ expanded reprint of my award-nominated 2007 collection ‘Going Back.’

Just back from the World Fantasy Convention in San Jose, CA. Did a reading from Night of Demons, signed a load of stuff — not just novels but magazines and anthologies I’ve appeared in — hooked up with some great old friends and made a load of new ones. You can read more about it on my blog.

The fantasy media website Fandomania is currently running an interview conducted between myself and reviewer Kelly Melcher, where we talk about my current novel and my work in general. You can read it here.

And — well — it happens to us all, sooner or later. I am now on Facebook. And I also have a Facebook Page — Tony Richards - Dark Fantasy Writer –with news of new developments.

A review of ‘Night of Demons’ on SF Revu has compared the new book to the works of Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris. Not bad!
